The MALMEDIE Drum-Coupling type TTXL is a further development of the RTT, NTT, TTX and TTXs versions, which have been proven successful over many years.
new development exhibits an increase in capacity, accompanied by
significantly improved operating security and also meets with customers
demands for higher capacities smaller weights and installation space.
The connection dimensions ensure the possibility to replace former
types.The transmission of force within the drumcoupling takes place
through positive locking. Hardened barrel rollers, placed in the holes
formed by the two circular gearings, are used as force transmitting
elements. The barrel rollers are driven axially. The cover and housing,
combined with the seals, prevent both the ingress of foreign bodies and
the leakage of lubricant. The torque is transmitted to the rope drum via
the flattenings on the outer diameter of the coupling housing and via
the friction between the coupling housing and the flanged wheel.
An automatic wear indicator is available as an option.
The TTXL is the classic design of Drum-Coupligs. Manufactured from forged rings, the TTXL guarantees high performance and improved operational safety by its internal design.
The MTTXL is a compact version of the TTXL with a shorter hub, ideal for applications with limited mounting space. Manufactured from forged rings, also the MTTXL guarantees high performance and improved operational safety by its internal design.
The TT series of drum couplings have been specifically designed for lower capacity hoist applications.

The existing wear in the drum coupling can be read off from the displacement of the pointer in relation to the wear notch. Here, a signal (e.g. to the crane control) is emitted via a sensor attached to the gearbox at approx. 80% wear. The max. permissible wear values are given in the table (see catalogue download). After exceeding the limit value, the drum coupling must be replaced. For applications with two load directions, the max. permissible wear values must be halved. This must be stated in the order so that the corresponding wear notch can be manufactured.
