  • Resolution: absolute 13 bit singleturn / 15 bit multiturn and incremental up to 4096 ppr

Universal encoder system - LWL, fiber optics

The innovative U-ONE(-SAFETY)-LWL universal encoder systems for speed and position monitoring improve performance by making optimal use of permitted speed ranges and fast and precise positioning. The LWL (FOC) encoder systems are comprised of a basic unit and function modules in the switchboard. They are ideal for applications in which signal transmission via fiber optic cable is possible and there is sufficient space in the switchboard. The encoder systems transmit signals over long distances of up to 1,000 meters with no interference and cost-effectively using just one fiber optic cable. Their multifunctional design type simplifies installation and connection. The all-in-one encoder systems are directly mounted onto the shaft that needs to be monitored. They therefore require no additional mechanical components such as distribution gears, distribution couplings or speed increasing gears and additionally offer higher accuracy. The simple parameter input and preset function after maintenance work ensure high system availability. The encoder systems are optionally available with all components certified for use in safety applications with requirements up to SIL 2 / PL d.
