About us
We are a Family Business, family owned and family run offering a reliable and efficient supply of mechanical drive technologies for over 50 years.
With four locations, we have our own foundry and a state-of-the-art gear manufacturing facility for special gears and complex drive elements. In addition to gears, gearboxes, couplings and belt drives, we also develop and manufacture complete systems and technical system solutions.
We see ourselves as a system provider and combine in-house production and assembly with trading in sophisticated drive elements. We supplement our portfolio through partnerships with well-known manufacturers within German mechanical engineering, in which we act locally as a commercial agency. In this way, we can offer you full expertise when it comes to drive technology.

02.02.2026 Project presentation: Drive technology for hydroelectric power station
In our reference project for the customer Turbinen- und Kraftwerksanlagenbau EFG, we supplied several components for a water turbine. The Kaplan turbine was developed as a high-end product with optimised efficiency for run-of-river power plants. It is suitable both as a new plant for sustainable green electricity generation and for the refurbishment and revitalisation of existing plants. 23.10.2025 New trainee in administration
We would like to introduce a new face to our administration team. Philipp began his training as an industrial clerk on 1 September and has been strengthening the FLOHR administration team ever since. With his open manner and interest in commercial processes, he quickly settled in and has already gained some exciting insights into everyday working life. His first few weeks were characterised by many new impressions, friendly colleagues and a steep learning curve. The 21-year-old describes his first weeks at FLOHR as follows:

15.08.2025 Project presentation: Lifting gear system for bridge expansion joint test bench
In our reference project for the customer Maurer SE, we supplied several lifting systems for an expansion joint test bench. The test bench is used to test road transition structures (expansion joints) for their mobility and wear resistance. The test specimen is operated within its maximum movement limits to verify its mobility. In addition, cyclic movement sequences with a high number of repetitions are performed to check wear resistance.

06.03.2025 Permanent wear monitoring for drum couplings
Advancing digitalization is opening up new, innovative approaches to increasing operational safety and efficiency in crane technology. A central focus here is on the continuous monitoring of wear on rope drum joint connections, which is superior to conventional inspection methods in many respects. The new Malmedie LifeMonitor reduces crane downtimes thanks to early wear detection and increases planning reliability with precise real-time data.
