Incremental optical encoders, Ex-proof (ATEX / IECEx)

The incremental optical encoders FG 40 Ex (solid shaft) can be deployed in a wide variety of applications to measure the speed at standard, main and secondary drives in potentially explosive atmospheres, for example in the oil and gas industry as well as in petrochemical applications. Ex-proof according to EN 60079 (ATEX) and IEC 60079 (IECEx): the incremental optical encoders are suitable for applications in Zones 1 and 2 (gas) as well as Zones 21 and 22 (dust) and are designed to meet degree of protection requirements IP66. Technically, the incremental optical encoders are based on the FG 40 models. The explosion-proof housings with detachable terminal box covers facilitate connecting the cables during on site installation. That in turn means it is possible to use different cable lengths to connect a device of the same type.
